Doctegrity and Patient Safety

This week is Patient Safety Awareness Week. Doctegrity is using this time to promote awareness about patient safety in healthcare. The event was initiated by the National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF), which later merged with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI).

The aim of Patient Safety Awareness Week is to increase public awareness and understanding of patient safety issues and to promote collaboration among healthcare providers, patients, and their families to improve the safety of healthcare.

During Patient Safety Awareness Week, healthcare organizations and providers may engage in a variety of activities such as education and training programs, patient safety workshops and seminars, public forums, and media campaigns. These activities help to raise awareness of key patient safety issues such as medication safety, infection prevention, communication, and teamwork.

The theme for Patient Safety Awareness Week varies each year, with recent themes including “Safe Care for Every Age,” “United for Patient Safety,” and “Everyday Heroes.” The week serves as an opportunity for healthcare organizations to reflect on their current patient safety practices and identify areas for improvement, with the goal of improving patient outcomes and experiences.
